ニュースとかで公共投資を3000億円とか、時に国債は何兆円とかといわれても庶民の感覚としては想像ができない金額がいわれていますが、はっきりいってわからないのが本音です。この本を読了後、そういった類の金額がどれくらいのものであるのかがこの本に示されている例えでおよそわかるようになりました。巨額の金額に対して何か計る基準がほしい人におすすめできる本です。村上龍の言う｢知ること」がこの本の目的であるならば、それは成功しているといえるでしょう。

　普通の人はお金の金額が10億円や100億円を超えるとその大きさを具体的にイメージするのは難しいのではないでしょうか。そのような時にこの本はその大きさを図るものさしを示してくれる本です。銀行や企業が破綻した時にそれを救済する金をどれだけ建設的な用途に使えたかを様々な例で指し示してくれています。
　このお金の使い道も多岐に渡っています。人民救済・援助を主眼にしたマジメなものから有名企業の買収、スポーツ選手やミュージシャンの契約取得まで様々な例があり楽しめます。
　銀行が破綻さえしなければこれらの用途に金を使えたかと思うと夢が膨らみます。お金の大きさが楽しくイメージできる本だと思います。

　あと特筆すべきははまのゆかさんのイラストが素晴らしい。ほのぼのとしてしかもツボを押さえたイラストには感動しました。はまのさんのイラストをパラパラとみているだけでもお金の使い道のイメージが湧きました。

このお金は一体どこに消えたんだろう。
あんまり期待しないで買ってみたら、かわいいイラストとともに、まさに「絵本」として読めた。
でも、あれ？うちの会社のことも載ってるぞ？それに気付くと急に寂しい本に思えてきました。

早くこの本を見て笑いたい。
