この本は、かなり良いです。正当派の本にはない、あそびが随所に差し込まれていて面白いです。普通の本では書かれていない、わからない部分を小説家ならではのイマジネーションを駆使して補足し、登場人物（神物）がいきいきと描がいていて親しみがわいてきます。

オススメは神々の時代の話です。天皇誕生以降の話は古事記自体が事務的な内容なので読んでいてもあまり面白くありません。
仁徳天皇の奥さんが仁徳天皇の浮気相手（一夫多妻制なので正しくない？）を追い返した件は面白かったけど…。

全編を通して感じることは、いくら難しい言葉で書かれていようが今も昔もやっていることは変わんないんだなぁってことです。

なお、著者も仰っていますが、この本は古事記に関するエッセイ本です。
学術的に正しい云々をいうのは筋違いです。
とりあえずどういう内容か知りたい、古事記をエンタテイメントとして楽しみたい。
という方にはオススメです。

古事記といえば、神々や天皇について書いてある本。日本のことだし興味はあるけど近寄り難い、そんな私のイメージを砕いてくれた本です。

面白おかしく書いてあり、1300年も昔に書かれたとは思えないほど、あちこち共感出来て一気に読めちゃいます。
共感出来たり失笑してしまうところがあるのに、日本の神々は本当に人間に近いんだなぁと改めて感じました。
意地っ張りだったり情けなかったり、恋愛にしてもご機嫌をとったり嫉妬したり。そこがまた魅力的なのでしょうが。

面白く読めて、よく聞く神々や伝説上の人物について詳しくなって、お得な気分になれる本です。内容的には、専門書としてより初心者の入門書という感じです。

古事記は難しそうだからと敬遠していた人には、是非オススメしたい本です。

日本で一番古い書物のサワリだけを“易しく、面白く”紹介してくれる、時間のない現代人にはとてもありがたい本！　通勤時間に肩肘はらずによめました。

ゲーム好きなわたしとしては、よくRPGなどに登場する「草薙の剣」などの神器の由来やら、色々な神様の名前の由来がわかって、とても楽しめました。

また、筆者が古事記に縁のある土地を旅した際のメモもあり、いつか余裕が出来たら旅行に行きたいなぁという気持ちになりました。
