5.0 out of 5 stars 現代人だからこそ共感できる清少納言像, 2001/2/15
学生時代に習った清少納言は、自慢たらたらのひどくペダンチックな人間だった様に思います。 ここに出てくる彼女には、「ねえねえ、メル友になって、メールのやり取りしましょ？」と言いたいくらい、自分の意見をはっきりいう私の好きなタイプの人間。 宮使えに出て世界が一気に広がった時の躍動感、定子中宮にあったときの憧れなど、いつの間にか千年の時を越えて、自分の人生と重ね合わせて読んでいました。 自分をの感情を包み隠して莞爾として微笑んでいるのが良しとされた時代に、こんなにハッキリ好き嫌いを言ってしまえる彼女には女性なら誰でも共感を覚えるのでは無いでしょうか？

是非読んでみてください。 「この世をば」と並んで私の一番好きな平安物です。

この作品の魅力は、何と言っても「平安もの」が親しみやすい文体になっていると言う点だと思う。
勿論、文体の巧みさだけでなく「高慢で自慢ばかりするインテリ」のようなイメージの清少納言を、見識があり、
感性豊かでサッパリした気性の女性に仕立て上げていると言う人物造型は流石。
こう言った「田辺オリジナル」が好きな人はグイグイ引っ張られてあっと言う間に読み終えてしまうに違いない。
けれど、良くも悪くもアクのある文体であることは否めない。
斯く言う自分は途中で挫折しそうになってしまったのだが、時折現れる美しい描写のお陰で挫けなかった。
やはり巧み、と言うことなのだろう。星４つ。

　この本を読んで、突然エッセイを書き始めたりした人、結構多いんじゃないでしょうか？私もその一人でしたが・・・（笑）
　それくらい影響力のあるこの作品。
　「豪快さと繊細さ」を併せ持つ清少納言の視点で、彼女を取り巻く宮中の華やかな貴族の生活が語られます。
　平安文化の雰囲気に浸れるだけでなく、歴史的背景も学べる傑作で、読んだ後、なぜだか京都に行きたくなります。
