感傷的な物言いになるのをおそれずに言えば、文章のひとつひとつが、輝いています。コラム「流行に従うべし」での三島の優しい眼差し（笑いそうになる言葉だけど）や、「教師をバカにすべし」にかいま見える、平岡少年が何者かになろうとして虎視眈々と、あるいは溌剌と、苦悩を重ねる姿に、胸を打たれました。

奇妙なノスタルジーの世界でしょうか。30年の歳月の流れをも笑って愛おしんでいるような文章。さすがの筆力です。
ぜひ、絶筆「天人五衰」とご一緒にどうぞ。

全編をおだやかな肯定が貫いていて、不快なところが何ひとつない。言葉の毒も、理論と人格に裏付けられていて、あけすけというか健康的な味わいにまで昇華されていると思います。

軽く読んでもロマンティシスト的に読んでも楽しめる作品です。
面白いんだけれど、周りの人には勧めたくないような作品。
若い人向けですね。

私は三島の小説よりもエッセイが好き。
私はこれで三島入門しましたが（10年くらい前）
今でも引っ張り出して時々読み返します。

30年以上前に書かれたとは思えない斬新さ、
屁理屈、小理屈、でも筋が通ってる。

この本を読んでいると、筋を通す勉強にもなります。

三島の作品では、エッセイもかなりの確率で大当たりです。
とくに、「不道徳教育講座」。涙がでるほど、実は道徳的かも。お勧めは、トイレに置いておいて、一章づつチビチビ読んでいくことかな。
なんでこんなにオシャレなヒトなんだろう、って感動します。
