高校生以来、20年振りに読んだ。当時も感銘を受け色々考えさせられたが、年月を経、人生経験を積み、再読してみると新たな感銘を受ける。流石に名著ではある。恐らく、先生とさして変わらぬ年齢になった自分が感じたもの考えたものは、更に20年経って再読した際には、先生より年上の立場になっているということで俯瞰してみることが出来るかもしれない。しかし其のときにでも、漱石の享年を超える歳に私がなっていてもその深遠さを測り知れないような気がする。漱石は偉大である。

高校からの課題で、初めて夏目漱石の本を読んでみました。
正直、とても読むのに時間がかかりました。
なにしろ、難しい言葉が多くて一つ一つ解説を見たりしていたので。
それでも、やはりこの本から学ぶ事はたくさんあったと思います。
人間の感情を、実に正直に明確に読者の心にストレートに投げかけてきて、
読んでいるこっちが人間ってこんな生き物だっけ…と考え込んでしまいました。
でも、いくら考え直してもやはり夏目漱石の描く人間、その感情は
、どれも納得するというか反論する理由がなくて、すごく奥が深くて、とても一言では語れない作品です。
このような作品に出会えて、私は人間について改めて深く考え直す事が出来たし、また人間の感情の奥深さを味わえたと思います。

一生に一度は必ず読むべき本だと思います。

「彼岸過迄」「行人」と共に後期三部作に位置づけられる作品で、教科書にも取り上げられるほどの名作である。
全体を通して、語り手である書生の「私」と、ふとしたいきさつで懇意になった「先生」との関係を中心に話は進むが、構成を大きく分けると、ふたりの出会いと交流が描かれる「先生と私」、「私」と大病を患う父と「私」の将来に期待を寄せる母との関係を中心に描かれる「両親と私」、そして自裁を遂げた「先生」の遺書による独白で綴られる「先生と遺書」の３部から成っている。
このうち、「私」と友人「Ｋ」の互いが想いを寄せる女性をめぐる争いのうちで、策略の末に「Ｋ」を自殺にまで追い込んでしまった「私」が、その後持ち続ける悔恨の情は、圧倒されるほどの深い自虐性を持って描きだされている。
作中、注釈はあるもののそれほど気にせずに読める程度の頻度と内容である。
このほか、巻末には、作品解説や年譜などが付記されている。
