昔の類語辞典は、どういう趣旨で類語が集めているのかがよくわかりませんでした。
装丁もぱっとしないし、買っても、引いたことがありませんでした。

角川類語辞書が出たときに、衝撃的でした。
読んだり、見たりするだけでも勉強になる類語辞書。
しかも、分類もわかりやすく、参考になり、シソーラスという概念を初めて知りました。
A　自然
B 　人事
C　文化
に分類し、
それぞれをさらに３−４
A　自然：自然、性状、変動
B 　人事：行動、心情、人物、性向
C　文化：社会、学芸、物品
に分類しています。

この分類自体が、新鮮で、さらに、その配列でいろいろ知りたいことが分かったときの驚きは今でも残っています。

インタネットの検索では、用語の木としてのシソーラス（類語辞書）は役に立ちます。
そのため、用語の木の作り方を説明したり、音楽とか、ソフトウェアとかの領域に絞って作ったりしました。

その際に、いつもお手本としておいていたのがこの類語辞書です。
仕事場用と、自宅用の２冊をいつも常備しています。

分類も、細かい分類では、
気象：天気
位置：場
形状：高千
数量：数
関連：関係
労役：労働
などのように、自分で言い換えて使っています。

辞書の良さは他の方が書かれているので、それ以外のことを。

文字はやや小さいかと思います。
しおり（紐）が二本ついています。
巻末の索引が、ひらがなではありません。漢字まじりです。だから、
引きにくい。単語を探すのにスムーズにいかない。その点が残念です。
慣れれば問題はないでしょうが。

単語量は豊富です。
言葉の幅が広がります。
是非一冊、お手元に。

類書を数冊持っているが、これが最高だ。 何をおいても語数が多い。そして検索が容易。一つ一つの言葉について簡要な定義と用例が付してあり、慣用句辞典としても使える。この辞典なら、一度の辞書引きで類語の知識が増えて便利なため、国語辞書はほとんど引かなくなってしまった。少々値が張る辞典だが、内容には納得がいく。文章を書くときには必携である。
