　　コールテンくんは、デパートのおもちゃ売場で、買ってくれる人を待っているくまのぬいぐるみです。ある日、お母さんと買い物に来た女の子が、コールテンくんを買ってもらおうとします。しかし、コールテンくんのズボンのボタンが取れていたので、お母さんは買ってくれませんでした。その日の夜、コールテンくんは無くなってしまったボタンを探しに行きます。この後どうなるのかは、読んでみてください。太い線で力強く描かれている絵で、くまと女の子の表情がよく描かれています。女の子のやさしさが伝わってきて、心を温めてくれる絵本です。

デパートでは毎日だれかが何かを買っていきます。
クマのぬいぐるみコーデュロイは自分にそんな日が来るのをずっと待っていました。　待ちすぎて片方のサスペンダーのボタンがとれていたことも気付かなかったほどでした。　しかしいつものように陳列棚で立っていたある日、とても大切な人と出会います。

待つことは無駄ではなく、むしろ「そのままでいいよ」といってくれる誰かに巡り会うための準備期間なんだと思える絵本です。
やさしい気持ちになれますよ。

本屋さんで読んだら娘がとっても気に入って購入しました。「おともだち、できてよかったねぇ」といって真剣に聞いています。私は「ぼくボタン取れているの気がつかなかったよ」っていう場面に、なぜだかとっても切なくて涙が出そうになりました。絵も独特でこういう本もなかなかないな~と思います。久々によい絵本を購入でき嬉しいです。
