臨床心理士を目指す人向けというより、大学の臨床心理コースについて
知りたい人向けだと思います。
または、臨床心理士って何をするの？という疑問にも答えてくれます。
作者ご本人の考えが生で聞けるのも、参考になると思います。
最近のブームに、そんな甘いもんじゃないよ、という姿勢が好きです。

臨床心理士という仕事に憧れを感じるという段階から、実際に仕事としてやっていけるのか、自分の適性に合っているのか、仕事にはどんな困難があるのか、何が必要なのかまで。

読みやすい、十分な情報量、イメージのわく文章。必要にして十分、よく整理されている。
価格も安め。「臨床心理士」について１冊だけ買うなら迷わずこの本を。

ただ、１９９９年発行のため、大学・大学院の受験案内は別にWebなどで最新情報をチェックしなくてはならない。

私の職場に、職員のメンタルケアの一環として臨床心理士が来てくれます。その方から聞きかじったことが、この本には実に明快に記されています。なぜ面談を50分で済ませるのかということについての論拠。臨床心理士自身がいわゆる「ミイラ採りがミイラ」にならないためには「適度に距離を置くことができるかどうかですね」と答えてくれたこと。また予想していたことですが、一生学び続ける覚悟が要ること。「人の心に関わって治すとか変える」ことに対する畏れの必要なこと。精神科医と臨床心理士って私たち素人には同じように思えるけど、明確に役割の違いがあることなど。

臨床心理士に向くかどうかの基本的な適性として「悩みを乗り越えたことがあり」「乗り越えた後もなお人の心の問題を追及したいと思うかどうか」とこれまた明快です。
これからの時代、ますます私たちには臨床心理士が必要になるでしょう。僭越な言い方ですが、粗製濫造にならないためにも、この本をきっちり読むことは大切だな、と思いました。
