女性の立場から見た熟年離婚の５話オムニバスストーリー集です。

著者は東大法学部、長期信用銀行というエリートコースを歩みながら
何を思い立ったか、弁護士に転進したという華麗かつ数奇なキャリアの持ち主。
これまでにも男女の法律問題を平易に解説したテキストを数冊世に問うています。
著者が男女法律問題の専門家を標榜しているらしき理由は、察するに
ご自身が女性問題に豊富な経験を有するからか。
そういえば、本の裏表紙の著者近影にもありし日のイケ面の面影がうかがえます。

さて、本論のストーリーは、どれも身近にありがちな熟年危機から離婚に至る起承転結を
妻の側の機知により無事に乗り越えるというもので、この手の問題の解決に
必要な法律知識が実に手軽に簡単に身につきます。これが本書の最大の長所でしょう。

ただし、５話ともいわゆる妻にとってのハッピーエンドストーリーであり
この点が本家のテレビ版「世にも不思議な物語」と異なる点です。
実社会の法律問題はもっとドロドロしているはずなのに・・・
妻が報われない不幸な結末はいくらでもあるのに・・・
評者も実はこの点に若干の物足りなさを感じて☆４つにしようかとも思いました。
しかし、それに増して素晴らしいのは、さっと通読してさっと頭に入る痛快感です。
この痛快感こそこの著者の持ち味であり、あふれる才能のなせる技なのでしょう。
著者の向後に期待を込めて☆５つ。

『中学受験ＢＩＢＬＥ』から小説の執筆まで、近年まさに八面六臂の才人弁護士ぶりを発揮していた著者だが、本書はその専門中の専門と言える「男女間の案件」に関する良質な解説書である。
専門と言っても難解な部分はまったくなく、小説仕立ての５つのストーリーの間に説明が挿入されて、起こりうるさまざまな問題からその対処法、あるいは交渉術や法廷での尋問そのものに至るまで、実にわかりやすく説明されていく。著者は頭脳明晰なのはもちろんだが、高度な中身をわかりやすく伝達するコミュニケーション能力も抜群だと言えよう。
２００７年の年金分割問題にからんで、すでに熟年世代の大量離婚が予測されているが、本書はそれに役立つだけではなく、離婚や不倫など広く男女間の問題、ひいては交渉事全般にも応用できるノウハウやテクニックが満載だ。
以前、著者の『男と女の法律戦略』を読んだとき、さまざまな問題をここまで噛み砕いて、しかもエンターテインメント的な読み物としても面白く書けるマルチな能力を持った弁護士がいるのかと感服したが、本書でその腕をさらに上げたようだ。

A Kid's Review
　５本のスト−リ−を読んでいくだけで手続きや法律知識が十分理解できる。
あっという間に読めてしまって、しっかり頭に残るという書き方をしている。
その理由は、スト−リ−の登場人物の台詞の中で易しく解説がされているからだろう。関心のあるところだけ「解説」や「確認問題」をやってみればいいし、著者もそのような使い方を勧めている。これで新書なのだから、本当にお買い得だ！
