私は、齋藤氏のファンですが、はっきり申し上げまして、本著は、かなり粗雑な構成でした。
数多ある斉藤氏の著作の中でも、かなり手抜きに思える内容です。
齋藤氏の知的フィルターを通して、取りあげた作家たちの作品の紹介が書かれているのですが
きちんと作品を読み込んだのかと疑いたくなるほど、薄い内容でした。
読者の知的レヴェルがかなり低い位置にあることを、前提にしているかのような印象を受けました。
もちろん、時代を読み解くヒントになる書籍を挙げているという点では、読書ガイドとしての機能くらいはあるでしょう。
実際、興味深い本を多数紹介しており、読者に読んでみたいなという気持ちにさせる文章が、抜粋されて載っています。
しかし、これは、齋藤氏の力によるものではなく、作家の文章の巧みさにあるわけで、評価の対象にはならないでしょう。
最近では、斉藤氏に対して、コバンザメ文化人などといった手厳しい批判が噴出してきておりますが、本人はそのことについてどうお考えなんでしょうか。
仮にも学者という身分にある方は、量ではなく、質で勝負して欲しいと思います。
今の齋藤先生は、暖簾わけして、味が落ちた人気ラーメン店みたいで、悲しいですよ・・・

斉藤氏は、これまでも「読書術」や「読書法」について発言してきている。
本著冒頭にも「取り扱い説明書」と題し、斉藤流読書法が書かれている。
その核心だけ述べれば、本を読んだら（読みながら）

「〜〜力」と付ける
A一文を引用する
Bひと前で３分間話せるよう、ネタ集めをする。

これまでも「コメント力」や「質問力」といったような形で氏が述べられてきた
ことだ。問題は、実際にどのように使うか、だ。本書はそこに力を入れている。
５０冊の本について、斉藤流の読書案内が付されている。斉藤氏の「型」が示されている。

どれだけ真似るかは、読者各人しだい。
わたしはといえば、ズルズルと最後まで読むハメになってしまった。

読書から得られることを最大限に活用するにはどうすればいいのか？そんな本との付き合い方を与えてくれる良書です。

初めの章にある読書の仕方のレクチャーが非常に参考になりました。本を読んで、読みっぱなしにするのではなく、自分なりの知識として身に着けるためにはどうすればいいかを教えてくれます。その本を一言でいうと？というコメント力をつけるのはビジネスにおいても重要だな〜とかんじました。

続きの章にある彼の書いている書評も自分が読んだ事のある本で、彼との違いを感じ取るのに非常に面白かったです。
