1964年東京生まれ。87年『草之丞の話』で、はないちもんめ小さな童話賞大賞を受賞。以降、小説、童話、詩、エッセイ、翻訳など、幅広い分野で活躍。92年『きらきらひかる』で第2回紫式部文学賞、2002年『泳ぐのに、安全でも適切でもありません』で第15回山本周五郎賞、04年『号泣する準備はできていた』で第130回直木賞を受賞(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

　高校生というモノは、オトナとコドモの狭間で、いろいろなきもちが揺れ動く。
　恋にしたって、ともだち関係にしたって、なににしたって。徒党を組んでコイバナにきゃっきゃっと華を咲かせるのが可愛いのもこのくらいまでかもしれない。コイバナはどの年齢にとっても大事なモノなのですが、なんていうか、イメージが。
　ドキドキする恋愛。これは恋なのだろうか、って悩む恋愛。
　わたしたちが『あのころ』じゃないとできなかった感覚が、この本にはつめこまれていると思います。

江國さんの作品は、
たしか「冷静と情熱のあいだ」しか
読んだことが無かったと思う。

この
「いつか記憶からこぼれおちるとしても」
は、１７歳の女子高生が主人公の短篇集。

「指」
「緑の猫」
「テイスト オブ パラダイス」
「飴玉」
「雨、きゅうり、緑茶」
「櫛とサインペン」
の６篇を収録。

同じ女子高に通う１０人の女子高生の物語。
６人の目線からそれぞれの
物語が描かれています。

この作品を読んで感じたのは、
江國さんの文書表現の独特さ。

「冷静と情熱のあいだ」を読んだときにも感じたが、
日常の中の些細な事を表現するのが上手いと思った。

タイトルどおり
過ぎてしまえば記憶からこぼれおちるような
普通の女子高生の日常なので
展開も文章もまったりしているが、
これはこれでいい作品なんだと思う。

単行本として２００２年に
発表された作品の文庫化です。

　高校生の時の人間関係を、大人になってしまった彼女が
こんなにも綺麗に書くのは見事だと思う。
　江國氏独特の、なめらかな文体で、少しずつ狂っていく、
普通の女の子を描いている。
　相変わらず見事だと思った。
