　佐野さんは、谷川俊太郎の三人目の妻だったひとだ。
今は離婚して、シングルでいる。成人した息子さんがいるようだが、
ほぼひとり暮らしのようだ。
お友だちがたくさん。一緒に料理したり、麻雀したり、お仕事の依頼もいっぱい。
充実した、老境ではありませんか・・。
　ところが、この佐野さんにして、やはり、老いや癌や孤独、
焦りは嵐のように日々渦巻いている。
　よくある達観や、諦観、という見せかけのかっこつけはない。
　日々、熱く、または淡々と生きる。自分のばばあ振りに驚きながら、堂々と生きる。
　こういうエッセイいままで、日本になかったなぁ。
自在で、魅力的な語りくち。
　老い、ひたすら恐がるのではなく、自然体で行こうよって思えてきます。

人生の秋から冬を迎えた女性の人生の達観ぶりがみごとです。なにも起こらない生活の日々も時間がたつにつれ、人生の終わりがちらつくような出来事がおこってきます。
健康のありがたさ、食にたいするこだわり、自分の人生のスタイルは自分がきめるという作者の生を貫く生活信条がみごとです。中身は読んでのおたのしみです。

いつも秘かに思っていることを、サラリズバリと書いてくれる洋子さんのエッセイは新刊が出るごとに読み、強力なサプリメントとして、日々の生活の励ましとなっている、ので洋子さんには、いつまでも元気でいてもらいたい。あなたがいなくなってしまう世の中は想像するだけでも寂しいもの。人生の甘いも、辛いも、苦いも、酸っぱいも、すべて知り尽くしたかのような洋子さんが紡ぎだしてくれるエッセイは、とても大事なエッセンスでもある。
