この本に掲載されている単語は、実際に入試に出るものも多く
それなりに単語の質は高いものとは言える。

だが、たしかに例文はついてはいるものの、特にこれという工夫もなく
何から何まで「普通」の本である。


結局この本が売れる理由は、単語帳のパイオニア的な存在であり、先人達が
語り継いで来たに過ぎない。
単語張の少なかった時代には重宝されるべき存在ではあったのだろうが、
受験参考書の氾濫する現代においては、この本である「必要性」は何ひとつとしてない。

早い話、覚えやすさにせよ、単語の質にせよ、実用性にせよ、もっと良い単語張は
他にもいっぱいある。
つまり、「有名だから」という安易な理由でこんな単語張に手を出さずに、
もっと自分に合った単語帳を使うべきであろう。

勿論、この本が自分には合うという人はそのまま続ければよい。
だがそうでないのならば、この本にこだわりすぎるのはやめるべきである。
経験上、多くの受験生が安易にこの本に手を出し、結局最後まで必要な単語を
身に付けられずに終わる、という悲しい結末を幾度となく見てきた。
だからこそ、ここまで言うのだ。

どうか、このレビューが一人でも多くの、単語を覚えられずに苦労している
受験生の参考になることを祈っている。

結構頻繁に改定されていますし、入試に出る単語も多く掲載されていますので、
単語の質そのものは悪くないかと思います。

ただ、あまりにも何の工夫もない旧来型の単語帳ですので
ゴリゴリ覚えるのが苦手な人には向かないかもしれません。
有名なだでけで、特に良書と呼ぶには値しないかと。
（一語一義主義など工夫とは呼べず、どうでも良い枝葉末節です。）

ただ裏を返せば、「余計な工夫は不要で単語と例文さえあれば十分だ」という
ような方には良いかもしれません。

学校などで使ってる方もいるかと思いますが、自分に合わないなら無理してまで
使い続ける価値のある単語張ではないのでもっと自分に合うものを探した方が無難です。

この単語帳は最大の難点がある。
副詞が載っていないことである。
副詞は元の動詞や形容詞なとが分かれば推測出来るという意見もあるが、それがない独立した副詞はいくらでもある。
副詞は文の主要素ではないが、パラグラフリーディングなどでは重要な役割を果たす。なのに載せないという意向が理解できない。

他にも、自動詞の後につく前置詞や副詞を明記していなかったり、単語の意味の少なさ・実用性にも疑問を覚える。

ターゲットが好きな人はそれで勉強したらいい。だがこれから単語帳を買うという方には全くおすすめしない。
