　野口体操の原点を詰め込んだ、著者の思いあふれる本だ。野口体操は、身体が本来の動きを取り戻すために、身体にきいて身体にまかせて、身体を感じるための体操である。（誤解を恐れずに定義してみました。）

　身体を大切にするには、まず身体を感じてみること羽鳥操さんの『感覚こそ力』とあわせて読むとさらによく野口体操のことがわかってくる。「感覚こそ力」とはいい言葉である。
　
　身体は、こんにゃくである。身体は蛇である。身体は皮の水袋である。　
　今弛んでいる筋肉だけが次に動くことができる。

　普段、いかに力頼り、固まった動きをしていたことか。もっとはやく気づくべきだった。しかし、この本に出会えてことに感謝。

野口体操で有名な野口三千三先生の最初の著作。

何よりも言葉の使い方が独特です。
自らの身体に生じる「内感」を100％全て「自分の言葉で語る」と
こういう本が出来上がるのだな、と思いました。

コミュニケーションの道具としての言葉ではなく、
自分が感じている「感覚」を探り、言い当て、
表出したいがための言葉。こういう言葉を理解するには
こちらも持てる想像力をfullに動員しなければなりません。

伝えようとしているのではなく、
正確に語ろうとしている。
その言葉に耳を澄ませ、自分の内側から理解しようとしてみる。
そういう意識で読むと、この本はとても面白くなってきます。
巻末の解説は養老先生です。
