　冒頭部分では、「建築家の作品と生きられた家の違い」について言及されており興味深いが、それは本論の主旨ではなく、あくまで導入として話題は展開していく。
　生きられた家なるテキストを構成する織り目として「出来事（人間の行為）」「物」「場（トポス）」を挙げ，その織り目は、建物を建てたり，それを生きたりした個体の意志を越え、文化的コード，さらには人間という種にまで及び，そのとき、建築家の作品と生きられた家という二極的対立は意味を成さないとしている。そうした文脈から，西洋と日本を比較し，西洋における家具に対して日本における床を「出来事」のポイントとして具体例を挙げているのは興味深い。
　「生きられた」という言葉から現象学的アプローチを連想させるが，実際には「生きられた家」を象徴論＝コスモロジーの問題として捉えようとする試みである。
　決して読みやすい文章ではないが，内容は非常に充実している。

“日本人ではない誰か”が書いた“日本語以外の文章”を
下手な翻訳家が書いた文章のようで、読みにくくて仕方がない。
特に学会系関係者に多く見受けられる「単純なことを
わざわざ難しい言葉でそれらしく書くことをよしとする風潮」
にはいつもウンザリさせられるが、この著作はその典型。

苦労して読み進めても結局その甲斐がない稚拙な内容で、
日本人が行った分析にしては粗雑。
こんな分析を行うために文庫本一冊が必要か？

やっぱり到底日本人の著作とは思えないんですけど。
