茨木 のり子
1926‐2006年。1946年東邦大学薬学部卒業。敗戦後の新しい息吹きにつき動かされ、1950年頃から詩作をはじめる。詩誌『詩学』に投稿し、同誌新人特集号に掲載。1953年川崎洋氏と2人で、同人詩誌『櫂』を発刊(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

戦後日本最大の女流詩人によってかかれた
詩の世界の入門書。

詩に興味はあるけど、ちょっととっつきにくくて…
という人は、どうかだまされたと思って読んでみてください。
誕生、成長、恋、苦難、死などのテーマ別に
作者が選んだ粒よりの現代自由詩は、
表情豊かに何人もの心に響き、
豊かな情感を呼び起こします。

私自身もこの本をきっかけに詩の魅力にとりつかれ、
今では詩のない生活なんて考えられません。
そしてそんな今でも、
この本を読み返すことは大きな楽しみなのです。

小学生の頃から20年近く、ずっと私の愛読書の１つでした。現代詩は難解なものも多いのですが、この本で取り上げられているのは、平易な表現で感動を与える名作ばかりです。谷川俊太郎、大岡信、石垣りんなどの有名詩人の詩もありますが、名前は知られていなくても心に残る詩が盛りだくさんです。著者のエッセイ調の解説もお勧めです。

ふとある人の詩集を買い求めるけれど、一冊最後まで楽しめない、、、そんな経験がよくあります。詩を自分で書かなかったりして、心得をよく知らないせいでしょうか。またはトーンが同じで飽きてしまうからでしょうか。本書では、教科書でおなじみの詩から外国の詩まで、実に広く深い『自由詩の世界』が展界されています。とり挙げられている詩の秀逸さもさることながら、詩をながめる茨木氏の、ときにするどく、なおあたたかいまなざしに胸があつくなりました。詩っていいな、ことばっていいな、と思える一冊です。
