　たしかに現代思想はサルトルという重大な哲学者思想家を軽視するおもむきがある。それは絶対に正さねばならない。
　「しかし」と私は思う。「だからと言って盲目的なサルトル信仰はいいのだろうか」それは無論、否である。本書はどちらかと言うと「盲目的なサルトル信仰」という方に傾くと言ってよい。
　ベルナール＝アンリ・レヴィの「サルトルの世紀」が圧倒的な資料を元に重ねられた上でのサルトル再評価の本だとすれば、本書は個人的感傷によるサルトル再評価と言えるであろう。私はその点において本書に疑問を覚える点が所々あるのである。
　もっとも新書という形式ゆえに引用など限られているので、そう言った印象をより強く受けたのかもしれない。個人的感傷が混じっているとしてもサルトル入門者にはこの程度であれば無害であると判断できる。また平易な文章であるし、読みやすいには読みやすい。その点、私は本書は入門には適すると思う。しかし、専門者には面白くないだろうと思う。

「サルトル」の思想の入門書というより、著者自身の「サルトル」体験談。
「嘔吐」（サルトル著）をいきなり読んだがわけがわからず、とりあえずサルトル入門書として読んだが、特に「嘔吐」についての記述は「体験談」に終わっている感じがした。
当然、サルトルについてはこれまでも多くのものが出版されていることもあり、個人的な体験談に終わるのは仕方がないかもしれない。

　本書を読めばサルトルがどのような人物であったかが分かる本だと思います。
　サルトルを知らない人が読んでもついていけると思います。
　実存主義や人間の可能性、また＜友愛-暴力＞関係がどんな具合なのかが分かります。
