まちづくりの第一人者、田村明教授の本なんです。
まちを活性化させるのは、お役所の上からのまるなげ行事イベントではないんですねー。

アイデアと人と根気であるという全国での実践例紹介された書なんですね。
まちづくり紹介で一番内容の濃い本だと思われまっす。
私は、この本をよんで吃驚しました。

まちづくりの多様性と、コアとなる中心人物のバイタリティーの凄さに。
自分の生活で、手一杯な人も多い中でみんなのためにまちづくりに奮闘する姿は
美しいと思いました。

昭和の時代で例えるなら、村の長みたいな人なんだね〜って。
まちづくりや地域調査の現場で知ったのですが、まちづくりに奮闘してる人は
家庭では小さくなってたりするそうです。

家庭の事をせずに、地域の事ばかりに時間とお金をさいてる。
なんて、言いながらも家族は誇りに思ってるんですよね。
地域の人に感謝されて、家族も誇らしいそうですよ。

そんな、使命感に燃えたまちづくりの事例が全国網羅してあります。
それはそれはこの値段でこの内容と情熱の多さの、的確な事例は圧巻です。
わたしは、この本を読んでまちづくりに興味をもって大学院に進学し、
地域調査までやてみて思いました。

この本に登場するまちづくりリーダーの凄さを実感しました。
私が生きて行く上での、バイブルです。

「まちづくり」は何故平仮名なのか？市民の意志が行動へと育まれることを切に願っている著者の思い入れが伝わる。全国各地のまちづくりを紹介しているので、実績調査を始める前には一読しておくとよいと思う。
「まちづくり」は実行ではなく実践であると強調しているこの本は、読む人を実践のために戸外へと導くだろう。ひとづくりに繋がることは間違いない。

まちづくりといえば、普通、その結果にしか目がいかないが、この本では、なぜ、そうした取り組みをはじめたのか、何を大事にしたかったのか、など、さまざまなまちづくり活動の動機を紐解きながら、豊富な実践例を紹介している。
まちづくりにもっとも必要なもの-情熱-の必要性を感じさせてくれる一冊。
