デザインや美術を専攻する学生・生徒さんにオススメの本です。
広く『色』に関しての知識はつくと思います。
広く浅く程よく深く(?)といったところでしょうか？
さらに興味の出た部分を掘り下げよう･･･とするのが良いのでは＞

ゲーテ著「色彩論」の「生理的色彩」の部分を主にベースとして書かれている色彩心理学の本です。ゲーテ以降のシュヴルール、カッツ等著名な色彩学者の理論の紹介を交えながら、色彩心理を説明しています。
いわゆる一般的に想像する色彩心理やカラーセラピーの本だと思って読むと、少しつらいかも知れません。どのように色が認識されるか･･･といったようなアカデミックな内容に富んでいます。
色彩学の歴史に興味がある方、アカデミックな色彩学に触れてみたい方におススメ。

色彩の学問については，ニュートンに始まる物理学としての流れと，ゲーテに始まる心理学の流れがありますが，本書はゲーテの「どのように見えるのか」ということにフォーカスした本です．

色彩心理に関するいろいろなことが網羅してあり，口絵や挿絵が豊富ですので視覚的にも楽しめます．色彩に興味のある方は，色彩心理学入門―ニュートンとゲーテの流れを追って (中公新書)もお勧めです．
