　この『ハムレット』は活字が大きいので、とりあえず読みやすかったです。
　下段に随時、注釈が掲載されているので面白く読め、３２ページの補注もあり、『ハムレット』の深さを知ることができます。

　個人的には、4大悲劇の中で最も好きな一冊。ハムレットのあの、例え何があろうとも「己が意志を貫く姿勢」に心を打たれた。しかし同時に、「何故そこまで?」と言う思いにも襲われたのもまた事実。もちろん彼の立場や時代背景を考慮すれば、それは仕方の無い事だったのかも知れない。だが、それでも思ってしまう、「他に道は無かったのか?」と。やはり、復讐の代価は、あまりにも大きいものだったと思わざるを得ない。

シェイクスピア最長の悲劇とのことですが、冒頭の幽霊が登場するシーンから最後まで弛緩せず、緊張感が続き、読み手の関心をひきつけます。
この岩波文庫版は、訳が新しく読みやすいことに加えて、ページの下部に注釈、長い補足は巻末についており、参照しやすくなっている点がうれしいところです。
ただ単に筋を追うだけでしたら、このような注釈は不要でしょうが、一つの場面やセリフに含まれた重層的なイメージを知るためには、専門の研究者でもなければ、注釈で補足してもらう必要があるでしょう。
ストーリーの面白い/つまらないというだけではない、物語の奥行きをうかがい知りたいと思う人であれば、この岩波文庫版が便利だと思います。
