旧仮名遣いに慣れていない方には難解かもしれません。ただ、この本とは別に新仮名遣いのものを読みましたが雰囲気はだいぶ違います。私はこちらの旧仮名遣いの方が好きです。
宮沢賢治の美しい詩に旧仮名遣いが合っているのでしょう。難しいものと思わず美しいもの、として一度見てみてください。
宮沢賢治の書いた文そのまま（多少編集はされているとは思いますが）読みたいという方には是非読んでもらいたい本です。一度現代版を読んでからこの本を読むと、意味が理解出来た状態で読めるので良いかも。

旧仮名遣い云々は置いておいて、当然詩は極上です。
美しい単語や文体が作り出す宮沢賢治のイメージ世界、それに触れる事が出来る良い本だと思います。

値段が変わったので、２００７年４月に改版したものでしょうか。
改版後も旧字・旧かなはそのままです。そういう意味では、この本は初心者向けではありません。ただし、文学の森へより深く踏み込むためには、いつまでも「旧字・旧かなは分からん」では話になりません。

　晩年のヘルマン・ヘッセは、孔子や孟子のドイツ語に訳された本を読んで、ボソッとこう言った。「彼らの本を原文で読めれば、もっと良いのだが。」と。
　これは全ての詩や箴言に通ずる考えである。特に詩の場合、そのテンポやリズムが重要になる。そのため、いくら昔の仮名遣いで読みにくいと言っても詩を現代文にすべきではない。もし詩の本質を忘れ、単に音階の伴わない言葉の羅列を読みたければ、宮沢賢治詩集の現代版の発刊を待てばいい。そして生気の失われた詩を感じながら、悦にはいる人間たち。それは芸術を知らない美術評論家になぞらえる。
　最後に述べておくが、詩の意味や書き方も知らない人間が勝手に宮沢賢治のような天才を批判すべきではない。この本をとって、たとえ所々読めない場所があっても、情緒あふれる印象を感じられないものは、よほど鈍感なのであろう。それに詩は部分から成り立っているのではない。詩は現実を描写し、それを文章に還元したものである。それらを忠実に実行した宮沢賢治の詩は、実にすばらしいものである。
　もし宮沢賢治の慧眼に驚かないものに、この本を読む資格は無い。
