　子供の頃にこの物語を読んだという友人が、ナルニア国物語の映画の宣伝ポスターの前で魅入られたように動かなくなった姿を見て、つい衝動買いしてしまいました。
そろそろ『中年』と呼ばれてもおかしくない年齢の私がついていけるかな･･･との心配は全くの杞憂に終わり、久しぶりに心の底からワクワク・ドキドキしながら全巻読み終えてしまいました。７巻では、ページの残りを確かめ確かめ、「あー、もうすぐ終わってしまう･･･」と、悲しさのあまり何度も読むのをやめようと思ったり。
子供たちだけで旅立つ未知の世界への冒険！こんなに素敵な世界があるなんて、もうずーっと忘れていました。辛いときや悲しいとき、仲間と助け合いながら、でも時々は誘惑に負ける弱い自分がいたりして･･･。
また、カラーの挿絵が見事です。特に食べ物の絵は、子供の頃に見ていたら食べたくて食べたくて悶絶していたかもしれません。
もし、小さい頃にこの物語を読んでいたら、ほんの少し人生が変わっていたかもしれない･･･と思わずにいられない素晴らしい内容でした。
一人でも多くの子供たちが、この本に出会えますように！

このシリーズを読んだのは高校１年の時、珍しく図書館で見かけて借りたのですが、このナルニアという空想の国に半分入り込んだような気分で夢中になって全巻読んだ記憶があります。今回カラー版が出たということでうれしくて早速全巻買い揃えました。（当時は高くて買えなかったので。）やはりおもしろい作品ではあるのですが、ファンタジーという分野のせいかまだ学生だった当時の方が感動が大きかったかな〜。今読むと３，４巻がおもしろい！当時は第１巻の衣装ダンスからナルニアに入るところでもうやられてた。映画になるとは思いもよらず、でも映画より、まずは本で読むほうがいいと思います。

　贅沢な世の中になってしまった･･･と少し思う。そう、私が読んだ時は白黒、そして、原書は紙の悪いペーパーバックだったのに、それでも十分にナルニアを堪能していたのに、自分の子供にはカラー買ってしまったのは、ま、ビジュアル世代だからってことで。
　それはともかく、娘にとっての「自分への特別の贈り物」という雰囲気を盛り上げてみたかったんです。親ばかですかね。挿絵は本を楽しむ一つの要素だし、外国の雰囲気を動画ですぐに眼にする事ができる現在、挿絵がほんの少しカラーだからといって、子供のイメージ力を損なうという事はないでしょうしね。今、現在進行中の読み聞かせに良し、少しばかり思い出に浸りつつ、挿絵を一つ一つ楽しみながらお休み前のひと時を楽しんだ後、来たるべき映画の公開に備えている親子です。す。
