七五調の訳で、リズムのよい日本語。ぱふぱふ、ちゃぐちゃぐの繰り返しが心地よい。汽車好きはもちろん、耳に心地よい文章で、うちの2歳の息子は、大好きです。絵もやさしい色調。読んでいるほうも、流れるように読める。訳がすばらしいので、日本語のうつくしさも感じ取れます。

家の二歳になる息子は、乗り物が大好きなので購入してみました。
案の定、グイグイと物語に惹きこまれていきました。
線が細く、無駄のない絵なので子供の想像力が膨らむような作品
だと思います。
大人も読んでいて一息つけるような、ほのぼのとした後味が残る、
親子で思い出の一冊となる作品になりそうです。
