　並んで建った3軒の家。子供は男の子３人、女の子３人だけ。そんな小さな村がやかまし村。映画にもなったので知ってる方多いかも。お子様が身近にいる方は大至急読ませてあげて！この作者ほど子供の気持ちがわかる人はいません。「なんでこの人は大人なのに子供の事がわかるんだろう？」と子供の頃びっくりしましたっけ。そう、子供の頃の事なんて忘れてしまいがち。読み返す度に以前は面白かった所が、ピンと来なくなるのです…。
　でも、大人になってから読むと、子供の頃には気がつかなかった部分に目が行きます。そう、お父さん、お母さん達。忙しく農場で働きながらも子供達をちゃんとみてます。さりげなく面倒みたり、ほったらかしにしたり、そのへんが実に適切。親が子供達に深い愛情を持ってる様子が伝わってきます。子供も大人もみな等しくリアルで個性的。両方の世界をきちんと書ける人。それがリンドグレーンさん。｢やかまし村の春夏秋冬」「やかまし村はいつもにぎやか」と、三部作になっているほか、幼年向けのお話の本もでてます。ご一緒にどうぞ。

　小生が本好きになった初めのきっかけが本書であった。小学１年の頃に　おばさんが読んでくれたのが本書である。小学一年生に　北欧の自然を想像することは難しかったはずだが　どうしたことが　すっかりはまってしまった。字が読めるようになってからは何度も繰り返し読んだことを今でも憶えている。

　あれから３０年以上が経った。目が悪くなったのは　読書のせいだが　そろそろ年のせいでもある頃だ。それでも　やかまし村は　小生のどこかに今でも残っている。そんな気持ちが不思議だが　幼児体験というものの一種かもしれない。勿論　幸せな幼児体験である。

ひたすら楽しくて幸せな本。
しかしどこまでもリアルなそれなのです。
初めて読んでから今日まで十余年。
どんな時でも愛しいふるさととして輝き続け、その美しさを以て希望を与えてくれている、大切な作品です。
環境に恵まれない子どもにこそ読んで欲しい。
読むだけで幸福な思い出をリーサたちと共有できます。
本当におすすめ。
