　「こねこのぴっち」を初めて目にしたのは幼稚園生のころ。その時特にこの本を気に入っていたという記憶はありませんでした。しかしそれから数十年経ってこの本に再び出会った時、ハンス・フィッシャーの温かみのある愛らしい絵は私の心に深く残っていて、私はこの絵本をとても愛していたのだと気づきました。
　数多くの本の中でも深く印象に残るものはごくわずかではないでしょうか。特に子供の頃はしつけや教育の意味合いを含んだ本よりも、真に楽しく美しいと感じるものこそがその人の大切な糧になっていく気がします。
　私にとって「ぴっち」はそんな数少ない宝物のひとつです。

他のネコが遊んでいることに興味がなく、他の事に興味のあるぴっち。
アヒルのように泳いでみたくて池に。ところが大変！ぴっちは沈んでしまう。そんなぴっちの姿に、愛しさを感じちゃいます。
そして池に入って風邪を引いてしまうぴっち。そんなぴっちを心配して、みんながお見舞い。もうみんな優しい！！

ハンス・フィッシャーの温かみのある愛らしい絵が、みんなの優しさを感じさせてくれ、ぴっちはぴっちでいいんだよって優しく語り掛けてくれます。

我が家のいたずらな男の子(８歳)はこの本が３歳のときから大好きで、
図書館に行く度に、この本を借りてきました。書店になかなかなくて。
お婆さんの飼っている、子猫がアヒルの真似をして、池に入り風邪を引いてしまい、
仲間が心配して、ピッチの乳母車を作るというストーリー。
ほとんど白黒の線で書かれてる動物たちがシンプルでかわいいです。
