This is one of series of famous Lonely Planet travel guide book.

Never go to New Zealand without this book with you! I probably think that this is the best book you can get as a Travel guide book to N.Z. that you can buy in Japan. No Japanese guide books covers detailed information even to very little towns!

日本語ではカバーしきれない本当に小さな町までもカバーしたガイドブックです。「地球の歩き方」も良いですが、日本人の多いところも多数。これを使って、「地球の歩き方に」乗っていないニュージーランドの旅もこの本が道案内をしてくれました。まさに、これで「Survive」してください。

ただの観光ガイドとは違い、歴史や文化、人々の日常生活にも触れているので、観光ガイドの枠を超えてたくさんの情報が載っています。もちろん観光ガイドとしてもオススメです。これ１冊持ってＮＺに行けば十分いろんな場所で楽しめると思います。

　ロンリープラネットは、実際の旅行者からのホテルやレストラン、バー、娯楽情報を集めて、そして現地滞在の数人のeditorがその情報を検証して掲載されている。

　そのためツアーではない世界中の個人旅行者にとって、最も信頼できるバイブルとなっている（日本の某有名ガイドブックなどは掲載店から掲載料を取っているため「ぼったくり」や料金違いが多いとされている）。実際にロンプラに掲載されているホテルは、きれいではないけど屋上から人々の生活が眺められる部屋があったり、レストランは地元住人のたまり場のようだったり、なかなかさまざまな経験ができる。もちろんロンプラに随って旅をすると宿などは外国人旅行者が溜まっていることが多くなってしまうけど。
　ただし、観光地の写真はほとんどないため、事前にどこに行くかとかはその国の現地の人が書いたウンチク本とかを読んでからのほうがいいかもしれません。
