もしも、ディセプティコンが勝ったら…という設定でストーリーが進行する、もうひとつのトランスフォーマーG1。

現代のニューヨークに現れたディセプティコン軍団。彼らは廃墟になるまで町を破壊し、部隊を全滅させ、人々に恐怖と絶望を与える。
突如現れた狂気的なロボットの破壊集団になす術もないアメリカ。都市を陥落し廃墟に変え、ディセプティコンは地球の他の地域へと侵略の手を広げていく。

一方、地球での戦いに敗れたオートボッツは、すでに廃墟と化した故郷のセイバートロン星に撤退。リーダーのオプティマスは破壊され、メガトロンにマトリクスを奪われた彼らは、ボロボロのまま、宇宙に散った他の仲間たちとコンタクトを試みるのだった…。

冒頭から地球上で暴れ回るメガトロンとディセプティコンたちの姿は圧巻。アートの美しさは勿論、キャラクターのディティールに編者のこだわりが見え、シーカーズ（ジェットロン）に玩具マスターピースのデザインや個性を取り入れるなど、新しい試みも見られる。
ディセプティコンが主役のタイトルだが、背走し哀愁と悲壮感漂うオートボッツの面々の描写も丁寧でとても良い。
人間サイドでは、おなじみのスパークプラグ、スパイクが軍人として登場。ディセプティコンズ、オートボッツ、地球人のこれからのそれぞれの展開に目が離せない。

宇宙のならず者にこだわり抜いた一冊、ディセプティコンファンならきっと満足できる。
