一般的にギターの表板は単板が良いと言われ、これを信じて疑わない人も多いと思いますが、ギブソンES-175、335、グレッチを始め、合板箱モノエレキの名機は数多く存在します。私個人、ギターを自作しますが、合板箱物ギターだけは設備の関係で市販のプレス済み合板を使う以外、自作不可能と決めつけていました。半信半疑でこの本を買ったのですが、石膏やエポキシ樹脂でプレス型を作り、自家用車の後輪でプレスするという、とんでもない（笑）方法で本当に作ってしまっています。カラーではありませんが、文字や写真も大きく見やすく、図も豊富で読んでいて楽しいです。久々に良い参考書に会えたと思いました。近いうち私もオリジナル合板箱モノエレキ製作に挑戦してみたいと思います。基本的にはグレッチのレプリカ製作本ですので、グレッチマニアの方にも構造を知るための参考書になると思います。
