非常に初歩的な所からScalaの全体像を眺める事が出来る本。

自分の勝手な予想では、Scalaを学ぶ人間の多くがJavaを使える人間であると思うのだが、そういった人々向けに、Javaに対するアドバンテージとなり得る点、つまり並列性などにもっと具体例を用いてページを割いても良かったのではないか、と思う。

しかしながら、副題の通り、最初から読んで行けば一通りの機能が把握出来るので入門書としては悪くないと思う。

"Scala By Example"

に感動した私は、３０分悩んで購入したのだ。

Javaなひとびとだけでなく、プログラミングの沼であがいている全てのひとに勧める。
・「オブジェクト指向もままならんのに関数型プログラミングはいらん」と思うひとに。
・関数型プログラミングの特殊な記法に挫折した人々に。(わたしがそう)

「ほにゃらら志向万歳」というような考え方を根本から揺さぶる知見となるだろう。

Erlangの本をサラッと読むとわかりやすいかもしれない。
(ScalaはErlangの並行プログラミング法を取り入れている。)
