この本に興味を持たれた方の参考になればと思い、「It works」

の文章について少し感想を書いておきたいと思います。

この本の文章は、修飾関係がやや複雑で、洋書を読み慣れてい

ない人にとっては、やや読みにくい文章であるように思います。

日本人にとっては、必ずしもお手本にしたくなるような文章では

ないかもしれません。

著者自身も述べているように、３５０ページまで引き延ばそうと

思えばできた内容を、ごく手短にエッセンスのみ述べているので、

飛躍が多く、読む際には行間を埋めるように読んでいく必要があ

ります。

ということで、内容はともかくとして、英語そのものとしては、

あまり初心者向きではないかもしれません。初心者の方は、やは

り、解説つきの訳本「イット・ワークス 夢をかなえる赤い本」

を併せて持っている方がよいでしょう。

この本（冊子？）には余分な情報は一切載っていない。
大きさも小さく、ページ数も30ページ弱。
だから一度読んだだけでは「あれっ？」と思うことだろう。
しかし、著者は本の中でこう書いている。

「This book could have extended easily over 350 pages,
but it has been deliberately shortened to make it as easy as
possible for you to read, understand and use.」

「Read the entire book over again, and again, AND THEN AGAIN.」

だらだらと同じような例を繰り返す自己啓発本よりも、
本書のようにシンプルな原則を挙げ、何度も繰り返し読みなさいと言ってくれる本の方が
読者は無駄な時間を費やす必要がなく、効率が良いと思うのだが・・・。むしろ親切な本だと思う。

値段は内容と照らし合わせても安い。
30年以上にわたり、世界の何百万もの人々に読み継がれている本にはその理由が必ずある。先人の英知を３ドル弱で手に入れられるなんて、安いと思いませんか？

自己啓発関連の本といえば、数百ページに及び面倒で読みたくはない、でも興味はあるという方に是非お勧めです！こんな薄い本は見たことがないというくらい薄いです。また、シンプルで非常に読みやすいです。
