　「モスクワについて少し勉強を」とLonely planetシリーズの"Moscow"を入手しましたが、「いつか、Hermitageを見てみたいなあ」ということで、ついでに"St Petersburg"を紹介する本書を入手しました。
　本書の表紙の見返しに、"Lonely Planet books provide independent advice."として広告を掲載せず、記載内容に手心を加えるような対応には執筆者を含めて応じないことが明記されていますが、このような旅行案内の本では重要なことだと思います。
　Hermitageが平面図と一緒に22ページにわたって解説されていて楽しめます。
　もちろん、他のLonely planetシリーズと同様、旅行先の歴史や市勢、観光に適した季節や旅行者に必要な予備知識、交通機関、観光スポット、宿泊先、食事場所、エンターテイメント、買い物、周辺地域の案内で構成されます。そして巻末に地図が収録されています。
