まず、はじめにペーパーバックです。この本。

印刷が若干荒い所はあります。その点注意です。

フィギアを作るとか塑像を作るとかの手引書では断じて有りません。

こんな作り方する意味も必要性も無く、相当なデッサン力と経験が無い限り、こんな作り方したらプロポ−ションめちゃくちゃな人体が出来上がります。

では何の役に立つかと言うと、完全に美術解剖学のテキストとしてです。

現在市販されている美術解剖学関連の書籍はパーツパーツを平面的に描き、また同じ箇所の骨、肉、のつき方をバラバラに描いているため、イメージがしにくいのですが、この本は同一のポーズ（当たり前ですが）で少しずつ上に乗っかって行くので非常に判りやすいです。

「骨盤のふちってどこら辺走ってるんだっけ？」とか「ハムストリングス（太ももの筋肉）ってどこに接続してるんだっけ」とかってのを知りたい場合に効果的な感じですね。

見ているだけで読み物としても面白いです。

その意味で星四つでしょうか。

１体の女性像の制作の針金の台から始まり、骨格を作り、その上に体格筋（体格を形作る筋肉）を順次のせていく様子が白黒写真で見られます。全身と角度を変えたアップが制作の各段階にあるので、立体的な造形がどのようにほどこされているのかがわかり、球体関節人形などリアリティを要求される人形の制作に活用できる１冊だと思います。
ことに最終段階の筋肉の上に女性らしいまるみをもたせる（皮下脂肪）の部分は見た目の変化は控えめですが、とても参考になります。筋肉図解の本といっしょに使えばなお効果的だと思います。

ただし、いわゆるアニメ系（？）のフィギア作りにはむかないかもしれません。

人体の彫塑の行程というより美術解剖学を学ぶための本です。
粗付けし、面割りしというような過程ではなく、表紙の女性像を骨格、筋組織、表層と段階的にそれぞれを完成させて制作しています。

骨格、筋組織ともに制作の過程から、完成像まで写真が掲載され、各段階の完成図を正面、側面、背面、斜め横面、さらには、注目箇所のアップなど、かなり丁寧に写真が掲載されています。

日本語で図説しているようなものと共に用いれば、なお勉強になると思います。
美術系の解剖学を学ぶ人には、かなりお勧めです！！
