私は子供達に英語を教えているので、生徒に絵本を読んであげることがあります。この本は幼児クラス、小学校低学年クラスで読んだところ、リズムが良いせいか初めて読んだ時から、なんとな~くだけど一緒について読んできました。私の生徒は皆とても気に入っています。2~3回読めば、もう生徒はほとんど覚えたようで、早めに来た子は｢Brown Bearの本かして下さい」と、声を出して一人で読んでいる子も結構います。私が見ている限りでは｢読んでいる｣と言うより｢暗記している｣感じです。本がなくても“Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you see? I see a red bird looking at me..."なんて帰る時も歩きながら言ってますよ。 テンポ良く読んであげるのがポイントですね。

１歳の甥っ子も絵がきれいなのが気に入っているのか、置いとくとペラペラめくっています。

ひたすら同じような文章の繰り返しです。
大人の人が英語の勉強に...というこであればあまりに簡単すぎてお勧めできませんが、子供の読み聞かせにはもってこいです。
たくさんの動物が出てきますが、それぞれ色が違うので動物と色が覚えられるようになっています。

表紙の絵を見て分かるように単純に1色で描かれておらず微妙に違う色を組み合わせているのもなかなか良いのではないかと思います。
サイズも小さな子供でも持てる大きさでめくりやすく正に子供のための絵本でしょう。

最初この本の絵を見たときには　へたな絵　と思って買えないでいたのですが、結局買って生後3-4ｹ月の息子に読んでやると　じーっと絵を見つめて　私の本を読む声に聞き入っている様子。どうも私がへただと思った絵は幼い子供には受け入れやすい絵だったようです。ﾘｽﾞﾑのある、似たような文章なので耳障りもいいのではないでしょうか？息子が生後11ｹ月になり歩き始めたばかりの頃、私の元に歩いて持ってきた最初の本がこの本となりました。
