And yet despite all these obstacles they managed to ride more than twenty thousand miles in four months, changing their lives forever in the process. 学生時代から英語は嫌い＆成績も悪かった私ですが、
元々映画や洋楽ファンだったので、時々英語の勉強をしたくなります。
自分の語彙力の乏しさ、同じ単語を何度も調べてしまう記憶力の悪さには、
我ながら腹を立てたりウンザリしますが、大枠をつかめば何とか・・・。
イギリスならではの表現（単語）に感心したり、
富も名声も手にしたように見える俳優の人間くさい一面が垣間見えたり。
さらに、「あの映画撮影時、私生活でこんなことがあったのか」
というような記述もあり、彼らの映画作品を見たことがある人なら
なかなか楽しめる本だと思います。
英文にウンザリしたときは、挿入されている写真を見て気を紛らわせ、
読破というゴールを目指しています。
