　最終巻で最も心揺さぶられた一言--"Look at me."今わの際で愛する人の面影を求めて搾り出した言葉。見つめ返す瞳を捉えてこの重要人物は最期を迎える。
　今でも？という問いに対し、応える--「Always」。それも自らの守護霊が変えるほどの深さで。
　両親から顧みられず、友人からも愛されることのなかったこの人物は、生涯受けた唯一の愛と唯一の信頼に殉死する覚悟で、極めて危険な役割を果たす--見事なまでに。愛する人の死に対する呵責からか、癒されることのなかった心の傷からか、"Best of you"を決して明かすことも許さず、報われ、理解されることを自分の方から拒んでいたようにさえ思われる。愛する人の死とともに、自ら心を葬ってしまったかのかもしれない。そう思わせる冷静さ、鎧の厚さ、冷酷さを貫いた。全巻でさまざまな形で愛の力が描かれているが、この人物の愛が最も深く心に刻まれた。

夢中で、でも最後だったから色々予想しながら以前よりもゆっくりと読みました、頭の中でこれまでを整理しつつ。
色々な噂が飛び交っていたので暫くはネットなどからも距離を置き（？）、決して結果を急いで知ろうとせずに、かみしめる様にして読んでよかったと思います。
最初本の厚さに改めてひるんだと同時に、わくわくする気持ちは今まで以上に抑えられませんでしたね。思っていたよりは頭に筋がすんなり入っていったと思います。
これだけのストーリーを考え出せる作者に改めて脱帽しました。皆の成長を追うことができ、新しい仲間も古くからの仲間も今ではみんな懐かしく振り返られます。自分もホグワーツで学んだような錯覚すら覚えました。

そして、あの方の秘めた愛に感動。こういう愛の持ち方もあるんだなと。これから映画などを見ても見方が変わるなあ。でも、考えてみたらいくつか少し思い当たることがあったかなぁなんて。
また、ダンブルドア先生も含めてハリーたち皆に教えられたことが色々あると思います。謎解きもすごく興味深いのですが、やはり家族、友達、仲間との愛や信頼関係などにいくつかの場面で感動させられました。ドビーとのことやルーピン先生とのやりとりも心に残りましたね。最終章はやや冗長かなとも思いましたが何回も読んでいるうちにこれはこれで良いのかもと思えてきましたね。子供の名前にはちょっと泣きそうになりました。最後まで読んで思ったのは、形が無くとも継がれていく大事なものがあることに気づく、そこがヴォルデモートとの違いなのだと。今度最終巻から逆に読んでみようかな・・・

普通長いシリーズだと、ところどころに大きい矛盾とかがあるものですが、最後まで読んでみて
本当に最初から最後まで良く考えてあるなぁと感じました。
特にこの７巻の途中で前作であるHalfblood Princeでちりばめられている伏線を意識せずにはいられませんでした。
そういう意味だと、前作をもう一度軽く流し読みしておくと良いかもしれません。

今作では作者がアナウンスしている通り、重要人物も何人か死にますが、そのうちの一人の覚悟は
並大抵ではなく、このシリーズのキャラクターの中で、もっとも印象の強い死に方でした。

反対にヴォルテモートって結局、何にもわかってなかったんだなぁとかえって少し同情してしまいました。

何はともわれこれで終わりってのも少し寂しいものですが、来年の日本語版、映画とまだまだ続くので
それらを楽しみにして行きたいと思います。作者さん。今まで、ありがとう。
