小野洋子さんの作品集。とは言っても、絵はなく文字ばかり。命令調 で書かれた短い文章は、詩というよりは手引書のような素っ気無いもの。そうこの本は、あなたの想像力を使うためのマニュアルなのです。

使い方は簡単。本の指示通りに、色々と頭に思い描いていけばいいだけ。そうすると、ただの活字の羅列を見ているにすぎないのに、そこには雪や、ガラスの破片や、空・・・といった画が広がっていくのです。
時には、金属的な音や冷たい空気を感じることさえあります。この説明、「？？？？？？」と思った人。
ごめんなさい。こんな不思議な本の魅力、私には完璧に伝えられないのです。

取りあえず、体験してみて下さい。想像力があるなら、絶対楽しめます。
そして、想像することの不思議にも触れてみて下さい。一つの文章は短く、平易なので、英語が苦手なも大丈夫。
日本では「オノ・ヨーコ頭の中で組み立てる絵」が出ていますが、収録数も少ないし、装丁も普通の文庫本なので、断然こちらをオススメします。

常に小野洋子という人は叩かれてきた。ビートルズを解散させた女、尻軽
などなど・・・
確かに彼女は時にアグレッシブで、時に理解しがたい。
しかしそれは、彼女が純粋で自分の気持ちを包み隠さず正直に発する事に
よって生まれた誤解であることが分かった。
この詩集でもそんな彼女の着飾らない自然体を愛する気持ちが滲み出ていた
と思う。

６０年代世界中で巻き起こった芸術運動「フルクサス」のメンバーであり、日本を代表する現代アーティスト、オノ・ヨーコの最も有名な作品集です。 しばらく版切れで、入手困難だったのものが再版されて大変喜んでます。彼女の原点がここにあるといっても過言ではないと思います。この機会を逃したら次いつ出会えるか...。
