　まず表紙や写真のスタイリッシュさにうれしくなりました。もちろん見た目の美しさだけでなく、例えば仕事で疲れて帰ってきて、テレビを見ながら早くご飯を食べたいけどコンビニご飯は味気なすぎるという時の料理や、何か嫌な事があったり悲しかったりした時にほっとさせてくれるような料理など、料理を調理法や味付けで区分するのでなく、自分の料理に対する価値観で章立てしてあるところが他の料理研究家の本とは大きく異なり、とても面白いと思いました。そういうナイジェラのスタイルはとても独創的で、それでいてとても共感できます。私は本を買ってから早速かぼちゃのシーフードイエローカレーを作ってみたけど、自分で作ったとは思えないほどおいしかったです。また、カロリー全く無視！のプレスリー風バナナ＋ピーナツバターフライトーストなんて、今まで私は家で一人でこっそり作っていたのですが料理本の一品として出てるのを見て、やっぱりこれおいしーよねー!!と再認識しました。この本は彼女が出演しているTV番組からの本だそうなので、そういう理由で彼女の他の本より簡単な料理なのかなあと思いますが、そのレシピの親しみやすさとシンプルさが私には手ごろに思えます。

今までのNIGELLAの本がよかったのでつい買ってしまった。
イギリスの同名のTV番組放映とともに発売されたこの本、発売当初は
売れに売れてた様子。でも時間が経つとともに不評がちらほら。
レシピの材料の配合がなんだかおかしくない？間違ってない？と言う声が。

あまりにシンプルな料理が多いためもしかして彼女が愛用している高級調味料や食材を使わないとただの手抜き料理になってしまうのでは？シンプルゆえ料理の腕がものをいうのかも。確かめる為に早速購入。ほんとにこんな簡単な作り方でいいのかよい？と疑いつつ。。味は。。うーん、いまいち。もしかしてTV放映に間に合わせる為に慌てて編集したのかしら？

腕に自身がある方、ぜひ作ってみてレビュー書いてください。

4.0 out of 5 stars ナイジェラの料理本の中で一番気に入っています, 2004/1/20
主な理由は、料理の紹介が季節を問わず、朝食から、おかず、ご飯もの、お菓子までと幅広く、その日の気分に合わせてレシピが選べるし、すべての料理の完成写真が載っているからです。プロのシェフではなく、いかにも素人っぽい出来上がりなので、見て楽しむだけでなく、作っても楽しめる、と思わせる本だと思います。一点残念なのは、テレビシリーズだと自宅のキッチンやリビングルームが映されていて、インテリアの参考にもなって楽しかったのですが、本ではそのような場面がないところです。レシピの種類はナイジェラオリジナルのもの、親から受け継いだもの、他者のレシピを彼女風にアレンジしたものから構成されていますが、「いつも自宅で作っている料理、何も特別ではない」と言っているだけあって、どれも簡単なものが多いです。理想としては、料理は丁寧に時間をかけた方がより美味しく仕上がるでしょうから、私は少しでも余裕のある時に、ハーブの数を増やす、ソースを長時間煮込む等、彼女のレシピに一手間かけるようにしています。洋料理本は、値段が高い、英語が分からない、食材が日本では手に入り難い、という難点はありますが、利点はなんと言っても部屋に飾ってお洒落なものが多い、というところですよね。この点も加えて、ナイジェラのどの本を買おうか迷っている方には、Nigella Bites はお勧めです。
