　鼻をほじくっていたぞ、と苛めっ子に言われた時から、小学校３年生の Marvinの運命は暗転。みんなから非難されて、のけ者のされるし、先生にも注意されてしまう。鼻をほじくると、これから一生、彼は笑い者だし、誰も仲良くしてくれない。Marvinは荒れてしまう。そんな窮地に陥った彼を救ったのは？？？

　子供の世界では、ささいなことから仲間はずれが始まるのですが、黙っていてはダメ！　Marvinの勇気から学ぶことは大きいはず。

Marvin Redpostシリーズの第2作。Louis Sacharの書く子供達のやり取りは軽快で活き活きとしており、大人でもとても楽しく読むことが出来ます。些細な出来事が大きな事件となり、ピンチに陥るMarvin。彼の不安や焦燥感、分かりやすい英語で引き込まれ、気付けばいつのまにか自分もドキドキハラハラ。最後まで一気に読んでしまい、読後はなんだか誇らしい気分になっていました。Louis Sacharの素晴らしさが、ひときわ光る作品です。

マービンは、いじめっ子クラレンスのせいで、「Pick your nose」と言われ、みんなから仲間はずれにされます。
親友のニックとスチュアートまで、みんなと同じように、マービンをからかいます。
ついには、先生まで、マービンを責めます。
マービンは、この窮地をどう脱するのだろうと、俄然おもしろくなり、一気に読んでしまいました(^^)
いろいろわからない単語もたくさん出てきたのですが、興味を持つとわかってくるものですね。
それにしても、いい家族を持ってます。妹のリンジーが最高！！
こういう展開で、解決するとは、最後は、ほんと、すっきりしました。
さっそく、次のシリーズを購入しました。
ちょっと、はまったかもしれません(^^;)
