　二匹のネズミ、クレイトンとデスモンド。クレイトンは村のかぼちゃコンテストで一位をとる！と言う思いから、一方デスモンドは大きいかぼちゃちょうちんを作る！と言う思いから、お互いが同じかぼちゃを育てているとはしらずに毎日かぼちゃの世話をしている。お互いが初めて同じかぼちゃを育てている事に気づいた時、かぼちゃに毛布をかけてあげている様子は大人では考えられない事。最初はそれぞれ違う思いでそだてていたけれど、二匹のネズミくんの根気から町中のみんなが喜び、してかぼちゃランプを一緒に楽しみ友情や協力など、ハロウィンと伝えるとともに教えられると思う一冊です！！！

　二匹のねずみ達、名前はクレイトンとデスモンド。二匹は友達！ある日かぼちゃのつるをみつけて、クレイトンは村のかぼちゃ自慢コンテストで優勝することを胸に抱き、一方デスモンドはかぼちゃのランプを作りたいな！と抱く。毎日毎日かぼちゃの面倒をするひたむきな姿があらわれている。子供だからといって何もできないわけじゃない！毎日続ければ努力は必ず実になる！かぼちゃに毛布をかけてあげたりする所が子供らしいし、そういう所があったかいとおもう。最初は自分だけが優勝気分を味わうはずが、いつしか皆でそのできを喜び、一緒にランプを作る。
　今の時代は優勝する、一位になる自分のは自分の！みたいな社会でだけど、この一冊でハロウィンの事も教えられるが、愛情や皆でひとつの事に励み一緒に喜びあうという事も子供達に伝えれると思います！
　とにかくおすすめの本です！
