メトネルは日本では、あまりなじみの少ない作曲家ですが、２０世紀初頭にこのようにすばらしい曲を残しています。
本楽譜には作品op8,op9,op14,op20,op26,op31とopの付いていない1915年の作品が収められています。
Fairy Talesの全集ということになります。
日本ではメジューエワの演奏で知られるようになったと思います。
ロシア情緒にあふれたピアノ曲で、味わいのある作曲家です。

>作品op8,op9,op14,op20,op26,op31とopの付いていない1915年の作品

プラス、op34,op35,op42,op48,op51,若い人のためのロマンティックなスケッチop54
が収められていて、完全な「おとぎ話」全集です。
ただし「おとぎ話ソナタop25-1」のような作品は含まれておりません。
