馬、牛、犬、猫などの骨格、筋肉の構造が正確な鉛筆画で描かれています。二百以上のイラストがほぼ全ページに渡って掲載されているので、それらを見ているだけでも想像力を刺激され十分楽しめます。
動物の動きや表情を研究するというよりは、骨格や筋肉などの解剖図としての役割が大きいです。

私は猫の筋肉の構造が知りたかったのですが、
猫のイラストが載っているページはわずか３ページで、
あまり参考にはできませんでした。かわりに、ライオンもありました。
洋書なので当然解説は英語なので、読むのが一苦労です。
イラストと解説の比率は、４：６ぐらいだと思います。
主に馬・犬・牛の解説が多く、特に足の解説が多いように感じます。
顔の構造などもあるので、参考にする対象がピタリとくる方には、
良い情報が得られると思います。

動物（主に馬、牛、犬）の骨格について詳細な説明があります。
どの骨がどのような役割をもち、それについた筋肉がどのように可動するのか等が記載されており、いわゆる美術学校の教科書みたいなものです。
全身の骨格というよりは、顔、足、腰、といった局部的な解説が多いです。
見開き一杯に描かれた全身骨格を期待する方には別の本をお薦めします。
