「歩く」って正面から見るとこんなに地味な動きなんだなと驚きました。

あと、半分近くが「馬」です。

同じ著者のHuman Figure in Motionと並んで、レビューの必要も無いくらい有名な本。動物の運動をはじめて科学的に機械を使って捉えようとした歴史的１冊。哺乳類や鳥類の歩行や走行、飛翔等の連続写真と簡単な説明から成っている。説明の方はともかくとして、連続写真は100年以上経った今見ても色あせることはない（白黒だから色あせようがないという意味ではない）。眺めているだけで楽しいし、動物の動きの不思議さを感じることができる。400以上ある頁の大半に写真が入っている重い本（約２キロ）の割に値段は安い。

動物の、「歩き」「走り」「ジャンプ」などが連続写真によってわかりやすくなってます。ただ、もっといろんな動物の動きがあればいいのにな。
