どの子も必ず通る道、お友達との物の貸し借りを教えられる本です.
これを読んだからといってできるようになるのかはわかりませんが、
一緒に遊ぶと楽しいよね、と諭しながら読んでます。
同じシリーズのExcuse　Meを持っていたので、
初めから子供には受けましたが文章としてはExcuse Meよりも
若干長い文章です.
フラップをめくってshareしているところでHere you are. Thank you.
などと言ってあげると、こういうときに使うんだということが分かるかもしれません。

日本語で説明しながら３歳の息子に読み聞かせました。
これを読むようになってから弟におもちゃなどを譲るのが上手になりました。
本人も「わけっこ上手になったでしょ？」と自慢げに報告してくれたりします。
絵もかわくてお話も簡単なので、幼稚園前の子供に最適だと思います。

~子供たちが成長するにつれ、兄弟、姉妹、仲の良い友達でもおもちゃの取り合いなどはどうしてもするもの。お兄ちゃんやお姉ちゃんは、おもちゃを貸してあげようね、使い方を教えてあげようね、と叱ってもなかなか子供は自らの（おもちゃで遊びたいという）好奇心の方が優ってしまうもの。そうした子供の心理をうまく説明した絵本です。英語はそれなりに難しい~~ので、私がひらがなで日本語訳を書いてやったところ、イラストと見比べて、少し兄弟喧嘩が減った模様。アメリカの本なのでしょうか、お友達に黒人が出てくるのも息子には新鮮な様子。ショベル遊び、クレヨン遊びで、ちゃんと子供は男の子、女の子のイラストを区別して見て居り、大変教育的に優れた本かと思います~
