Product Description

Amazon.co.jp

(Nancy R.E. O’Brien, Amazon.com) --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

There was a time when the world was sweeter....when the women in Beaufort, North Carolina, wore dresses, and the men donned hats.... Every April, when the wind smells of both the sea and lilacs, Landon Carter remembers 1958, his last year at Beaufort High. Landon had dated a girl or two, and even once sworn that he'd been in love. Certainly the last person he thought he'd fall for was Jamie, the shy, almost ethereal daughter of the town's Baptist minister....Jamie, who was destined to show him the depths of the human heart-and the joy and pain of living. The inspiration for this novel came from Nicholas Sparks's sister: her life and her courage. From the internationally bestselling author Nicholas Sparks, comes his most moving story yet....

5.0 out of 5 stars a Walk to Remember, 2002/1/10
By A Customer

4.0 out of 5 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars A Walk to Remember, 2006/8/20
A Walk to Remember, I think is the one of the best books I've ever read. It has taught me a lot about the importance of life and the people in it. I've learned many life lessons, for example you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, meaning that you should get to really know someone before you can say something that you don't even really know. In this book, Landon shows that at first he judges Jamie by the outside, but after getting to know her he realizes what a great person she is and eventually falls in love with her. I think that you should accept people for who they are, and just know that everyone's unique in their own way. In this book I've also realized that you should always live life to the fullest, because you never know when your time is up. Jamie, was an example in this book that shows that you should live your life the best way you can, when she does actually does all the things on her list, and still lives her life as if she didn't even know she was dying. Overall, this book reads a lot like Giorgio Kostantinos' bestseller-'The Quest' highly recc. I think this book taught be that you should live each day as your last, and that you should never assume things about people without even knowing them.
