感情を排し、強力なテレパス能力を有するPsyが権力の中枢をにぎる社会。
PsyとChangeling（半人半獣）と人間が共存するサンフランシスコ。
SF的設定としては目新しく無いかもしれないが、作者はクールな筆致で
緊迫感あふれるダークな世界を作り上げる事に成功している。

殺人事件の真相を追うなかで、互いに本心をみせずに探りあい、
疑いと信頼の間で揺れながら、主人公たちは惹かれていく。

pantherクランのアルファオスヒーローは、野性と人間性が混じりあい
冷静さと熱さが魅力的だ。

前半のどきどきするような盛り上がりに対して、後半部分は
やや甘い。　本格的なミステリーを期待する人はがっかりするだろう。
とはいえ、ChangelingとPsyをめぐるこれからの物語が
どうなってゆくのか、大変興味がある。
大きな謎があるようだが、まだこの巻では完全には解明されない。
今後の展開が待たれる。

20XX年。人間とPsyとChangilingが暮らす世界。
異世界だけれど、世界観がしっかりしていて、安心して読めます。

ロマンスだけれど、ミステリーとしても、
話がしっかりとつくられていて、
終わりに向かって、加速していきます。

主人公ふたりの人物像が魅力的です。
ヒーローはChangilingのリーダーとして、冷静さと決断力を持つと同時に
一人の男性として（Changilingとして？）情熱的、
そして過去に傷のある人間として温かみを持っています。

ヒロインは、Psyとして生き残るため身につけた技術と知識、
生まれついての朗らかな性格が魅力的です。

星の数は４か５か悩んだのですが、4.5ということで、四捨五入しました。

この世界での、続きの話も楽しみです。
