家の子（２歳）は、はまっています。チューチューという響き自体が馴染み易いらしく、また、本の中には効果音の表現が多く読んであげると喜びます。読み方次第で子供が入り込むようで、今では読んで聞かせてあげると理解できる単語を目で追うようになっています。

文章が長いので、読むほうは大変というのもありますが、子供が楽しく聞いてくれるので、私の勉強にも良いと思いがんばっています。
英語のレベルとしては中学生プラス？という感じですが、普段から英語学習をしているのもあって「音」で楽しむらしく、支障はないようです。

子供の頃日本語で読んでもらったことのあった本なので電車好きの息子（２歳）のために購入しました。私にとっても懐かしいし、英語の勉強にもなるし、息子は夢中になるし、もう一石三鳥？です。
今回初めて知ったのですが、この作品あの「小さなおうち」の作者バージニア　バートンだったのですね。知らなかった･･･。

ちょっと欲を言えば本がハードカバーだったら絵がもっと綺麗だっただろうにな･･･でもカセット付なのでしょうがないか。

あの「The Little House（ちいさいおうち）」の作者Virginia Lee Burtonの著書です。
The Little Houseはキレイな色彩の絵本でしたが、こちらは全編モノクロです。で、そこがまた「鉄道」っぽさを感じさせます。
ところでChooChhoって女の子だったんですねぇ。（sheになってる）

邦訳版を読んだのは遠い昔で思い出せませんが、明確に女の子だっていう記述はなかったんじゃないかなぁ。
