それは、あたしがまだ幼稚園卒業してばかりのころのお話です。親の留学についてアメリカに渡った頃でした。普通のアメリカの子が行く近所の小学校に入ったのはいいけど、言葉が通じなくて困ってた頃その小学校の先生がこの本をすすめてくれました。英語がぜんぜん喋れない私にこの本を読んで聞かせてくれ一瞬でこの本のとりこになりました（笑）すごくリズムも分かりやすく話もおもしろいので、何回読んでもあきませんでした。英語に聞きなれてきた頃（２ヶ月後くらい）ビックリするくらい自分でも英語をぺらぺらに喋れるようになりました！友達と毎週休みの日に遊んでたことも助けてくれて、英語が大好きになりました。この本の英語自体はスゴクむずかいしいことはないので、英語が苦手なひとでもたのしめ!ますよぉー（＾＾）

英語の勉強を始めてから、楽しいと思えた本がこれでした.....子供用と聞いていたので、ちょっと気楽に構えていたのですが、カセットを聞いてみてビックリ、初めは全くわかりませんでした。 何度も聞いていくうちに、その音の楽しさとキャラクター達の魅力にとりつかれてしまいます。CAT が恐いはずの FISH が、CAT に説教ばかりしているのですね、私はこの本に出てくる The fish in the pot. の大ファンです。英語のリズムを掴む、「音読」の楽しさを教えてくれる。そして 作家のDr.スースへの興味を持たせてくれる、この絵本は大人の心をも掴んでしまう、そんな魅力に溢れています。

アメリカの小学校で今も昔も使われている普遍的なベストセラー、古典的な名作です。 アメリカでは小学校の1年生の授業でで大概取り入れられています。皆、この本を自分で読めるように、頑張ります.

フォニックスがふんだんに盛込まれていて、キンダーガーテン（幼稚園年長組）でアルファベットの音韻を習った後の子供達、実際に自分で本をを読み始める子供達にぴったりです。 初心者に読みやすいだけではなく,ストーリーも、ワクワクするような奇想天外なお話で,思わず引き込まれて、頑張って読み進んでしまいます。

ストーリーも挿絵も１００％アメリカっぽくって、リズム感あふれ、日本の童話とは違った味わいが楽しめます.
