    4.0 out of 5 stars 子供の頃に見てた名作劇場を思い出しました, 2005/3/10
    お金持ちで、賢くて、親切で、友達思いのセーラ。
    しかし、父の死で無一文になってしまったセーラは、学校のお手伝いさんとして
    過酷な労働をしなくてはならなくなってしまいます。
    それでも、負けずに頑張るセーラ…

    とてもアニメの小公女が好きだったので
    この本の挿絵には最後までなじめず…頭に浮かぶのはＴＶで観たシーンばかりでした。
    でも、限られた語彙で、色々なシーンを心に思い描かせるこの作品は
    それだけ魅力的で、心に訴えかけてかけてくる何かがあるんだと思います。

    語彙を400に制限しているせいもあって、表現が直接的な部分もありますが
    それがかえってストレートに胸に響き、セーラの健気さを表しているような気がしました。

    洋書にあまり慣れていない私には、途中、ちょっと分かりにくい部分がありましたが
    その部分のみ、もう１度読み返し、理解できました。
    とはいえ、難しい単語や文法は出てきませんので大丈夫ですよ！

    ５０歳のオジサンが年甲斐も泣く、泣いちゃいました。
    ストーリーは何処にでも有るような他愛も無いものかもしれませんが・・・。
    健気なプリンセス・サラに感動しました。
    もう一つ・・・・・
    私にとって「めざせ１００万語！」３２冊目です。
    感動できるスピードで読めたことを嬉しく思いました。
    ボチボチ、４００語（ステージ１）を卒業できるかも？

    今の今まで「小公女」を読んだこともなければ、アニメ
    で観たこともありません。
    しかしながら、この作品は子供の物語でありながら、
    大人の利己主義が描かれています。
    それでも懸命に生きようとするSaraに感動します。
    名作とは幾つになって読み始めてもいいものだと
    感じました。
    次回はオリジナル版に挑戦したいです。
