A National Parenting Publicationsで金賞を受賞したらしいこの本は、ペンギンの子供が一番大切な人（この場合ママです）のどんな時が好きか語る絵本です。
"I like it when you hold my hand." "I like it when you let me help."と、文法はこれ１つしか出てきません。

赤・青・黄・緑の配色がかわいく、子供の注意をひきつけます。

最後は親子の会話、"I love you." "I love you, too."で締められているのもいいですね。
心が暖かくなる絵本でした。

小さな子供を持つ友人みんなに贈りたくなる素敵な絵本です。

今娘は３歳ですが１歳を過ぎたころから本当によく読んでいます。I like it when we eat new things! というと、Surprise!と返事が返ってきますし、I like it when you hold my hand.　のところでは必ず一緒に握手をします。I ilke it when you kiss good night.と　読んでKiss をして、最後のページ、You're wonderful!といって思いっきり抱きしめておやすみなさいを言います。親子でのスキンシップ、愛情表現にもってこいの本当に素敵な本です。

なかなか寝付かない娘。夜寝る時のお決まりはこの本。毎日の暮らしの中でも、手をつなぐ時、お風呂で遊ぶ時、くすぐる時・・・娘の口から自然と英語が出てくるのは子供の興味を引く明るい色使いと、かわいいペンギンのキャラクター、そして子供でも口にしやすい練られたシンプルな文によるもの。簡単な言葉から英語に親しむにはとてもいい1冊だとおもいます。
