2歳の男の子の父です。
評判が良く、知り合いにも勧められて読みました。

正直私と妻にはこの本の良さが分かりませんでした。
でも子供はとても喜びます。

英語版でしたが、その音も気に入っているようです。
子供の豊かな想像力とマッチするのかな。
絵も優しげで、飽きもこないのか1年経ってもよく読みます。

　Where the Wild Things Are 等の絵本でも有名な Maurice Sendakの古典的名作です。我が家の子供達はビデオでこの話を見てからの大ファンで、何度も繰り返しこの絵本を見ています。

　真夜中に不思議な音で目を覚ましたミッキーが、３人の怪しげなべーカーのいるキッチンに迷い込んで冒険の始まりです！絵はもちろん印象的な美しい絵ですし、英文も独特のリズムがいい感じです。
　ぜひ、大きな声でリズミカルに、子供達に読んであげてください！

大人にはなかなかこの絵本の本当の良さは解らないかもしれません。でも、子供達の、絵本に吸い込まれていくような様子でその質の良さが解ると思います。沢山の子供達に読んできましたが、どの子もみんなだいすきな絵本のひとつのようです。日本後版は神宮輝夫さんが訳されたもので、耳に心地よい訳になっていますからそれもお薦めですが、やっぱり言語の響きにはかないません。どちらも買って、読んであげる事をおすすめします。大人も一緒に夢の世界にワープできそうなお話ですよ♪
